Experience:

LaQuaesha Williams is a professional educator that uses the natural and empathic skill of relationship building to aid her students in achieving their academic and social goals. She teaches them 21st Century Skills that will ensure their success in the classroom and in their future endeavors.  Having worked in multiple school districts all having extremely diverse demographics, her motto is simple, “All students can learn, and it’s my job to figure out how.”

LaQuaesha attended the University of North Texas where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a minor in Biology in August of 2004 and became a Texas 4-8 Generalist certified teacher in 2005.

In 2005, LaQuaesha started her career in her hometown of DeSoto, where she taught 8th grade science and reading all while coaching volleyball and track.  In 2008, she left DeSoto and went to Mansfield ISD for three years, where she taught 7th Science and coached volleyball, basketball, track, and cross country.  From Mansfield ISD, she transitioned to Arlington ISD and taught both 7th and 8th Science and coached volleyball, basketball, track, and cross country. It was in Arlington ISD where she gained the knowledge, professional development, and mentorship that would propel her professional talents to the next level.  After accumulating many years of experience, she was given an amazing opportunity that would lead her back home to DeSoto in 2014. Since her return to DeSoto ISD, she taught 8th Science and coached JV volleyball for two years before joining the Male Leadership Academy where she currently teaches 6th-8th Science.

During her 13 year career, LaQuaesha has earned several awards from Teacher of the Week, Month, and Semester.  She has also been awarded for creating and organizing various science camps while mentoring and serving as Science Department Chair leading a solid team of science teachers. In addition, LaQuaesha diligently served on the Campus Improvement Committee and was the campus representative for the District Advocacy Committee.
