Dear Members of Our Eagle Community:

My name is Di Nardo “Dee” Bazile and I am so excited and honored to introduce myself as the new instructional leader of DeSoto West Middle School. I am truly blessed to have been selected to join DeSoto ISD and the Eagle’s nest. My top priority is to continue providing the academic excellence that DeSoto West has been known to deliver to our students throughout the years. Over the past 22 years, I have worked as a teacher/coach, campus administrator, and district administrator, but I consider my most important job to be that of a child advocate. I have worked with students from both secondary and elementary levels ranging from high school teacher to Intermediate school Principal, but a majority of my years in education have been at the middle school level. I will spend a lot of time with your children, getting to know their personalities, learning styles and interests. I will foster a nurturing environment for celebrating their successes, be it small or large. I will encourage them every day and let them know that they are valued and have a voice in the direction of our school as we move forward.

At DeSoto West Middle School we will continue to build upon the outstanding school initiatives such as iSTEAM, the Male Leadership Academy, and the International Baccalaureate Program (IB) just to name a few. I can assure you that we will have some new programs added to our school culture as the year progresses. Our school will be focusing on increasing our emphasis on the concept of projectbased learning, valuing not only the acquisition of knowledge but its handson application. I am dedicated to providing all students with enriching learning experiences that will allow them to build upon their passions for creativity and accomplishments.

I am a true believer in being a transparent, approachable, and customer service driven leader. My philosophy of education is that every child deserves the right to be educated and every child has the ability to learn. It is our job as educators to help guide their learning. Our DeSoto West Middle School community must work together, support each other and realizing that no one person is bigger than the school family and community. We must continue to strive to ensure that all students have the opportunity to reach their fullest academic potential. Our school is our family, and success is a by-product of our commitment to working together and respecting each other. I will model the expectations and behaviors that we as a community will hold our students accountable to.

I encourage you to monitor our campus website page, as well as email communications regarding events that will be occurring throughout the school year. Once again, I am so thankful to have the opportunity to bring all of the unique skills and experiences that I’ve accumulated throughout my professional learning journey to your wonderful community. I look forward to getting to know you and your children more as the year progresses. Please don’t be a stranger as I encourage you to stop by and say Hello! Best wishes for a highly successful and engaging school year.
