This is my 11th year teaching in DeSoto ISD, and my second year as Head Band Director at West Middle School. This is also my and my 26 year of teaching. I am a graduate of New Mexico State University, and I majored in Music Education--band specifically, and flute is my main instrument.
I have a daughter Anna, who is an assistant principal with Uplift Charter Schoosl, and a daughter LeighAnn, who attends Red Oak High School. Les Hittle, my husband, has retired from teaching band (with me in fact from 2009 thru 2016). Our whole family is involved in education one way or another.
Our family is involved as volunteers with Three Amigos Horse Rescue. We have learned many wonderful things about this intelligent animal....and now own 2 horses.
I am really looking forward to continuing as a band director with the West Middle School Band. Every year brings new challenges, new faces, new talent and new relationships.
