The Triple-A Experience

West Middle School’s school-within-a-school model program focuses on the Male Leadership Academy. This form of academics caters to young male scholars in need of a focused learning environment. Promoting personal pride, belongingness, brotherhood, and camaraderie, this program molds young men into the leaders of tomorrow. An emphasis on excellence helps young males meet their physical, social-emotional, and academic needs.

The Triple-A experience is a huge part of our success at West Middle School for young men and women attending. Advanced academics have led to a four-point gain in academic progress and a C letter rating by the TEA (Texas Education Agency).

We’ve recently redesigned our curriculum to a STEM-centric model. Across grade levels, students learn more about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. STEM education is grounded in real-life applications and can provide context for students outside the classroom.

A focused computer, technology, and engineering curriculum transitions education from good to great. Students can take college, career, and military courses to be more prepared for the future.

Young scholars leave DeSoto ISD prepared for an ever-changing world because of the real-world experiences they receive at West Middle School.

Students can practice fine arts by joining art, band, cheer, or dance. Football, soccer, track and field, volleyball, and basketball are among the popular sports for active young scholars.
