Creating a Culture of Health
The Healthy Zone School Recognition Program® was created in 2011 as a joint collaboration between The Cooper Institute and United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, which uses evidence-based knowledge and best practices to assist schools in promoting healthy behaviors.
Healthy Zone Applications Open
The Healthy Zone School Program Application is now open for the 2019-2020 school year!
Help us spread the word by encouraging schools in your district to apply! Also, schools currently in the program do not need to reapply.
Build Healthy Habits During the Holidays
Encourage families to continue to be active during Thanksgiving break by sending out theHealthy Zone Activity Log.

Digital Learning Opportunities
EVERFI offers digital educational learning opportunities for students. Based on the goals of your school, EVERFI has lessons that focus on a wide variety of health and wellness topics.

First-year schools, if you have not submitted your Baseline Teacher Survey please complete this at your earliest convenience. 

Dec 14:
  • Last day for first-year schools to enter
  • Fall FitnessGram data and send home reports.
Remember to visit your Healthy Zone dashboard to complete surveys and access funding.

Community Grant Program
Grant funding can be used to help support hunger relief, healthy eating, quality of life, education, economic development, building relationships, public safety, and environmental sustainability.
Funding: $250 - $2,000
